We are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to take on full time 1:1 support roles in the BS8 area. These positions start in September and involve working closely with individual children with special educational needs who require tailored support to thrive in their learning.

What You Will Be Doing:

- Providing dedicated 1:1 SEN support to a child with additional needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties or learning difficulties
- Helping your pupil access the curriculum and engage with classroom activities using personalised strategies
- Supporting social, emotional and communication development
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques where needed
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to follow EHCPs and individual support plans
- Building a positive and trusting relationship with your pupil
- Encouraging independence, confidence and self-regulation in a nurturing way
- Supporting your pupil during lessons, break times and transitions throughout the day

What We Are Looking For:

- Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
- Experience supporting children with EHCPs or individual learning plans
- A calm, patient and empathetic approach
- A genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs
- Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to individual needs
- Reliability and professionalism
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
- Team Teach or positive handling training is desirable but not essential
