We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist secondary SEN school in Rochdale this September. This is a full-time position supporting students aged 11–16 with a range of additional needs, including:

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH)
  • Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)

  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging, tailored lessons
  • Help manage behaviour and support emotional regulation
  • Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
  • Provide personal care where required (PMLD support)
  • Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals

  • Previous experience working with children or young people (SEN experience desirable)
  • Understanding of ASC, SEMH or PMLD (training can be provided)
  • Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for supporting young people with additional needs

  • Full-time, long-term role (no part-time availability)
