The Role

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a primary school to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs, including those displaying challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to support emotional regulation
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils to support engagement
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
  • Support the creation of a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a resilient, confident and compassionate individual who:

  • Has experience working in a Primary School SEN setting (essential)
  • Has experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour (highly desirable)
  • Demonstrates strong behaviour management skills
  • Is patient, adaptable, and proactive
  • Can build strong rapport with pupils and staff
  • Has a team-focused approach and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
