We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting supporting young people aged 6 to 19 with a wide range of needs, including:

  • Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD)
  • Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC)
  • ADHD and associated challenges
  • Complex medical, sensory, and physical needs

Our students benefit from a highly individualised approach to learning, requiring patience, creativity, and a genuine commitment to supporting them to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential.

The setting offers excellent resources, outstanding facilities, and a strong multidisciplinary therapeutic team, creating a supportive and enriching environment for both students and staff.

Due to ongoing growth and expansion, we are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and helping prepare them for adult life.

  • Support students' learning, development, and progress across all areas of the curriculum
  • Assist in a variety of settings, including classrooms, outdoor environments, and community-based activities
  • Work with young people with complex needs, including PMLD, autism, and medical conditions, to achieve both educational and personal goals
  • Promote an inclusive environment that values equality, diversity, and respect
  • Empower students to build confidence, independence, and self-esteem
  • Provide high-quality support tailored to individual needs
  • Participate in personal care routines and, where required, physical intervention strategies
  • Contribute flexibly to team tasks, supporting wherever required

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Willing to work towards relevant qualifications and training (fully funded)
  • Passionate, caring, and empathetic towards young people with additional needs
  • Resilient, ambitious, and motivated to overcome learning barriers
  • Enthusiastic about outdoor and community-based learning
  • Able to see potential in every student and focus on ability rather than disability
  • Strong team players, while also able to work independently with discretion
  • Proactive, creative, and solution-focused
  • Skilled communicators, particularly when supporting a range of communication needs
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Educated to at least Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths and English

  • A supportive, values-driven working environment
  • Access to fully funded training and professional development
  • Opportunity to work within a specialist, multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent resources and facilities
  • The chance to make a real difference in young people's lives

All successful applicants will be subject to pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants are required to declare all convictions and cautions (unless protected under DBS filtering rules).

The organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and is a disability-confident, equal opportunities employer.

Shortlisted candidates may be subject to an online search as part of the recruitment process.
