SEN Teaching Assistant - Transition into Mainstream Education
Full Time Roles | SEMH & SEN Support | Intervention & 1:1 Support

Southampton based - various locations

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant currently working within a specialist setting and considering a move into mainstream education?

We are working closely with a number of supportive and inclusive mainstream schools seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and SEN, on a full-time basis.

These rewarding roles are ideal for candidates with experience in SEN schools who are looking to apply their valuable skills within a mainstream environment while continuing to make a meaningful impact on children's education and wellbeing.

The positions will involve:

  • Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Delivering small group intervention sessions
  • Supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, and communication needs
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to support pupil progress

The schools are looking for individuals who:

  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEN and/or SEMH
  • Are patient, resilient, and nurturing in their approach
  • Can build strong and trusting relationships with pupils
  • Are confident adapting support strategies to meet individual needs
  • Are passionate about helping every child succeed both academically and emotionally

In return, you will benefit from:

  • A supportive transition from specialist to mainstream education
  • Welcoming and experienced school teams
  • Full-time, long-term opportunities
  • Valuable professional development and training opportunities
  • The chance to make a genuine difference every day

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to broaden their experience while continuing to support children who need encouragement, consistency, and positive role models to thrive in school.
