We are currently recruiting compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in Bath, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a rewarding role for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact and helping young people overcome barriers to learning in a supportive and structured environment.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support pupils with SEMH needs both inside and outside the classroom
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students
  • Help manage behaviour in a calm and consistent manner
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support
  • Encourage emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and support staff
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or additional support needs is desirable
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations
  • Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or support work are welcomed
