About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team from September. This is a full-time role providing 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Special Educational Needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the child access learning, develop confidence, and make meaningful progress both academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning strategies
  • Support the child’s emotional regulation and social development
  • Adapt classroom activities to ensure accessibility and engagement
  • Monitor progress and contribute to observations and reports
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant, particularly supporting children with SEN
  • A strong understanding of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, or speech and language difficulties (adjust based on needs if known)
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm, consistent approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA or equivalent) are desirable
