Our partner school is a specialist independent day provision supporting students aged 6-19 with a range of Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), including autism spectrum conditions, ADHD, and associated needs.

The school provides a highly personalised and nurturing environment for learners who may also present with complex medical needs, sensory or physical impairments, and challenges around anxiety, confidence, and transitions. Staff play a vital role in helping students manage these barriers and thrive both academically and personally.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students' learning, development, and overall wellbeing across a variety of settings - including the classroom, outdoor learning environments, and the wider community.

You will:

  • Support students across the curriculum, adapting approaches to meet individual needs
  • Work with learners with PMLD, autism, and complex medical needs to achieve their goals
  • Promote independence, confidence, and emotional regulation
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where every young person is valued
  • Support personal care and, where necessary, physical intervention in line with training
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and multidisciplinary teams

We are seeking individuals who are:

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
  • Compassionate, patient, and resilient
  • Proactive, creative, and solution-focused
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing
  • Strong communicators, able to adapt to a range of communication needs
  • Team players who can also work independently with professionalism and discretion
  • Motivated to develop professionally (fully funded training and qualifications provided)
  • Educated to at least Level 2 in Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • Enthusiastic about outdoor and community-based learning
  • A supportive and specialist working environment
  • Fully funded training and development opportunities
  • The chance to make a meaningful, lasting impact on young people's lives
