SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School
Location: Dallington, East Sussex
Start Date: Ongoing
Contract: Full-time / Part-time / Flexible

Teaching Personnel are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Dallington. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s learning, development, and wellbeing.

This small, rural primary school offers a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is known and valued. With a strong focus on wellbeing, outdoor learning, and personalised support, the school encourages pupils to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Staff work closely together to create a calm and supportive atmosphere, particularly for children with additional needs.

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN
  • Support children with Autism (ASC), SEMH, or additional learning needs
  • Assist with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and SENCOs to implement support plans
  • Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • Experience supporting children with SEN or SEMH (school or similar setting)
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for inclusive education
  • DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
