We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people aged 5-19 with complex learning needs, including autism and associated difficulties.
This is a rewarding opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering a highly personalised curriculum supported by an integrated therapeutic approach. The setting places a strong emphasis on communication, independence, and preparing learners for life beyond education.
- Support students in both classroom and community-based learning environments
- Work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised learning programmes
- Promote communication, social interaction, and independence skills
- Provide pastoral care and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Assist with behaviour support strategies tailored to individual needs
- Support students with personal care needs, including toileting, hygiene, dressing, and feeding, delivered with dignity and respect
- Encourage participation in life skills and enrichment activities
We are looking for individuals who are:
- Passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs
- Patient, resilient, and empathetic in their approach
- Comfortable supporting personal care needs as part of a holistic role
- Strong team players with excellent communication skills
- Adaptable and willing to learn new strategies and approaches
- Ideally experienced in SEN, care, or education settings (not essential - training provided)
- Able to travel to a rural/less accessible location; access to a vehicle is highly desirable
