Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working alongside a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Sale to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time position starting in October.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs.
• Assist pupils in accessing learning activities and engaging positively in the classroom.
• Support teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual learning requirements.
• Deliver targeted interventions to support academic progress, communication, social development, and emotional wellbeing.
• Encourage positive behaviour and help pupils develop confidence and independence.
• Support the implementation of individual learning plans and behaviour strategies.
• Work closely with teachers, the SENCO, families, and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs.
• Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Is patient, compassionate, and adaptable in their approach.
• Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents.
• Is committed to promoting inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing.
• Has relevant SEN or safeguarding training, or is willing to undertake further professional development.
