A friendly and inclusive primary school in Watford is looking to appoint a caring and committed 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is a full-time, long-term role, well suited to someone with experience supporting children with special educational needs, or for those keen to build a career in inclusive education. The position offers a chance to have a meaningful impact by providing consistent, personalised support to a pupil.


In this role, you will provide dedicated one-to-one support to a pupil with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum, develop confidence, and engage positively in school life.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and support staff to ensure the pupil benefits from a structured, supportive, and encouraging environment.


Individual Support
Provide tailored one-to-one assistance based on the pupil's specific needs and learning style.

Classroom Engagement
Support the pupil in accessing lessons, adapting activities where necessary to ensure full participation.

Encouraging Development
Promote independence, confidence, and positive social interaction, while supporting emotional wellbeing.

Tracking Progress
Monitor and record the pupil's development, sharing updates with staff and contributing to support plans.

Supporting Learning Plans
Assist in delivering and reviewing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised targets.

Team Collaboration
Work closely with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and parents to maintain a consistent support approach.
