  • Supporting the educational and social development of students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • Assisting the class teacher in implementing individual education plans
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN
  • Helping students with personal care needs, if required
  • Assisting in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
  • Experience working with children or individuals with SEN
  • Understanding of SEN strategies and best practises

Relevant qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs

Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Patience and empathy towards students with SEN
  • Organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Higher education qualification in Education or Special Educational Needs
  • Training in Makaton or other communication systems

The role may involve working in a classroom setting, providing support to students with varying levels of SEN. Some personal care assistance may be required. The job may also involve liaising with parents, teachers, and external professionals to ensure the best support for students.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
