A specialist school in the North- West of Bristol is looking an adventurous and caring behavioural Teaching Assistant to support children/ young people ages of 7 – 16. Every child is assigned their own TA so the role is likely to involve some 1:1 support, although this can change from day to day.

We are looking for someone who is looking to have a creative, influential impact. Many of these pupils have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenging behaviour, requiring empathetic and skilled support to help them navigate their emotions to re-imagine their potential.

  • Roles begin in April/ May 2024 and will be full time – Monday to Friday 8:15am – 4:45pm – Term time only:
  • £84 - £95/ day depending on experience
  • Accessible bus routes

You will be working with children who have mixed needs, including behavioural difficulties and some who are on the Autistic Spectrum so you MUST be confident, proactive and want to make a real difference to the children they support.

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

  • Be proactive, creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching.
  • Be confident working with challenging behaviour and can build trusting and lasting relationships.
  • Be passionate to be outdoors and has an interest in the fields of arts, crafts, commerce, agriculture, nutrition, living skills and the environment.
