Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside a fantastic school based in Hackney, they are seeking a 1:1 Teaching assistant from the end of April to the end of the academic year (5 days per week 8.30-15.30), the pupil in question is a male pupil in year 3 with ASD. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the classroom. This includes assisting with individualised learning activities, providing support during lessons, and helping to implement educational and behavioural plans.

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is essential for this role, as it demonstrates the necessary knowledge and skills to support students with SEN effectively.

Prior experience working with students with SEN, particularly in areas such as Autism, Learning support, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Behavioural support, is highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of SEN practises and strategies
  • Knowledge of interventions such as Phonics and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)

Any additional qualifications or training related to supporting students with SEN would be advantageous in this role.

This is a temporary position based in Hackney, Greater London, with Full-Time hours expected. The salary ranges from £85.00 to £95.00 per day, with benefits provided through PAYE.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
