  • Provide support and assistance to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students with SEN.
  • Support students with Autism, ensuring they are engaged and participating in classroom activities.
  • Assist students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance with their learning.
  • Monitor and track student progress, reporting any concerns or developments to the class teacher.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists and occupational therapists, to support students' individual needs.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of classroom materials and resources.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and locations within the school.
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a special educational needs (SEN) setting.
  • Experience supporting students with Autism and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
  • Thorough understanding of special educational needs (SEN) and appropriate support strategies.
  • Knowledge of Autism and strategies to support students with Autism in an educational setting.
  • Familiarity with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs and techniques to manage behaviour and emotions.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, teachers, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and follow instructions from the class teacher.
  • Organisational skills to assist with classroom preparation and resource management.
  • Additional qualifications or training related to special educational needs (SEN) support.
  • Specific training or certifications in Autism support strategies.
  • Temporary position expected to work Full-Time hours.
  • Work within a school setting, primarily in classrooms and other educational environments.
  • May involve occasional physical activities, such as assisting students with mobility or sensory needs.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
