As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support children with special educational needs in the classroom. This includes providing assistance to the teacher, helping with lesson planning and preparation, and offering one-on-one support to pupils as needed. You will also be responsible for creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all children.

  • A relevant qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or a related field
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Education or a related field is required. Additional training or certification in SEN support is highly desirable.

Previous experience working in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred. Experience in implementing individual education plans and behaviour management techniques is also advantageous.

  • Understanding of various special educational needs and strategies to support these needs
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
  • Additional training in safeguarding and child protection
  • First Aid certification

This role involves working in a classroom environment within a school setting. You may be required to work with pupils who have complex needs and challenging behaviours. The ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive attitude is essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
