Position Overview: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEN to reach their full potential. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to create individualized learning plans and provide tailored support to meet the unique needs of each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering lessons that are accessible and engaging for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEN, both in the classroom and in specialized settings.
  • Help students develop their academic, social, and life skills through structured activities and interventions.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, parents, and external agencies to ensure the holistic development and well-being of students with SEN.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN is highly desirable.
  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or special needs support is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
