Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team. As an integral part of our Special Educational Needs department, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people and contribute to their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with academic tasks and personal development.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and ensure students' progress is monitored effectively.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and resources tailored to meet the specific needs of SEN students.
  • Promote positive behaviour management strategies and contribute to the maintenance of a safe and stimulating classroom environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs is desirable but not essential.
  • A compassionate and patient nature, with a genuine commitment to supporting the learning and well-being of SEN students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development, with a willingness to participate in training provided by the school.
  • A positive attitude, adaptability, and resilience in the face of challenges.
