Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistants Location: Sedgemoor, Somerset Start Date: Ideally 15th April, Open to Negotiation

Role Overview: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of students with SEN within our school community. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to create inclusive learning environments where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support for students with SEN, helping them to engage with learning activities and achieve their full potential.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers and SENCOs to adapt learning materials and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster a supportive and nurturing classroom environment, promoting positive behavior and emotional well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/carers, providing updates on student progress and involving them in their child's learning journey.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of GCSEs or equivalent qualifications.
  • Passion for working with children and young people with SEN.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from senior staff.
