Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a hardworking, dynamic and enthusiastic individual to join the pastoral / SEN team in a fantastic school in the Whitchurch area for after Easter and in September 2024.

The educator is expected to provide in-class assistance as well as working as a team with interventions in their inclusion base for chosen individuals or groups of students in a variety of lessons. This is an incredible opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young people.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Provide support for identified students in class. Promote and support the development of SEND student's self-reliance, self-esteem and emotional resilience
  • Promote positive behaviour and relationships, using effective strategies in a timely manner in accordance with school policy
  • Be an initial point of contact for parents and carers
  • Work in partnership with subject teachers, and to be committed to understanding and differentiating curriculum content and methods of assessment
  • Plan and deliver a range of interventions
  • Provide relevant feedback to subject teachers, tutor or Head of House
  • Liaise with the SENDCo on a regular basis
  • Attend and engage positively with team meetings
  • Fully engage with training opportunities and to apply learning to improving practise
  • Devise and distribute information for teachers and parents / carers
  • Maintain records as required
  • Contribute to termly and annual reviews
  • Undertake any other such duties as may, from time to time, be reasonably required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
