Role: Teaching Assistant

Full-Time Position - Monday to Friday (part time roles are also available)

Salary: £83 – 100 per day

Location: Barnsley (South Yorkshire)

A team of passionate educators in Barnsley are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants!

Ignite your passion for transforming lives at a specialised institution for pupils ages 5-16 with social, emotional, mental health needs. In this role you'll contribute to a positive and supportive learning environment, providing SEN pupils with stability in their education. The role is very suited to those with experience in care and support work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support.
  • Assist in implementing individualized education plans.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to create an optimal learning environment.
  • Aid in classroom activities and organization.
  • Support students in developing social skills and positive behaviour to assist them inside and outside of the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Though part time roles are available, Monday to Friday availability is preferred.
  • Passion for supporting children with complex needs.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • A strong understanding of autism and related behaviours

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience in education or support work
  • Additional training in supporting pupils with SEN needs.
  • Moving and handling training would be advantageous.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
