We are currently working with a well-established specialist school in Bury who are looking to appoint a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team after the Easter break.

This provision supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, communication difficulties and moderate learning needs. The school has a strong focus on creating a structured, supportive environment where pupils can develop both academically and socially.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils throughout the school day, helping them to access learning and maintain engagement within the classroom.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Supporting the delivery of lessons and adapting activities where required
  • Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement
  • Supporting pupils during transitions and less structured parts of the day
  • Working closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have experience working with SEN pupils or within a school setting
  • Be patient, consistent and able to build strong relationships
  • Have a calm and proactive approach to behaviour
  • Be confident working as part of a team
  • Be available to work full time, Monday to Friday
  • A supportive and experienced staff team
  • A structured environment with clear expectations
  • Opportunities to develop experience within SEN
  • A long-term role with potential for a permanent position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
