SEN Teaching Assistant (EYFS) – Blackburn

Hours: 9:00am – 1:00pm (Monday to Friday)
Location: Blackburn

We are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with complex additional needs.

This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support to help the child access learning, develop communication and social skills, and achieve their full potential in a nurturing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 support throughout the school morning.
  • Support the child's learning, development, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Assist with personal care, maintaining the child's dignity and comfort at all times.
  • Implement strategies and interventions as directed by the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with school staff, parents, and other professionals where appropriate.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with complex needs.
  • A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
  • Confidence in providing personal care (training can be provided if required).
  • Knowledge or experience of EYFS is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
