Supply Desk is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate and committed SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Hemel Hempstead area.
The successful candidate will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, delivering engaging, inclusive and differentiated lessons that promote confidence, independence, academic progress and personal development.
This is an excellent opportunity for both experienced SEN Teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with additional needs.
As an SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging, accessible and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning needs.
Supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and complex learning difficulties.
Developing pupils' confidence, independence, communication and social interaction skills.
Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to ensure positive learning outcomes.
Working collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists and other education professionals.
Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels supported and valued.
Implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning programmes.
Using positive behaviour management strategies to support pupils' emotional regulation and engagement.
Building positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues to promote consistent support.
Encouraging pupils to develop essential life skills and achieve their individual learning goals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher who can create a positive learning environment and inspire pupils with additional needs.
The successful candidate will have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
Previous experience supporting pupils with special educational needs, ideally within a mainstream or specialist SEND setting.
A strong understanding of differentiated teaching, inclusive education and individual learning needs.
Excellent classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
The ability to adapt teaching approaches to support pupils with varying abilities and complex needs.
A patient, compassionate and resilient approach to teaching.
A genuine passion for helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.
Experience implementing EHCP targets and individualised learning strategies.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A commitment to safeguarding, pupil wellbeing and inclusive education.
Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply, particularly those with a genuine interest in developing their experience within SEND education.
