SEN Teacher - Sheffield - Education and Training

Are you a dedicated SEN Teacher looking for flexible teaching opportunities across Sheffield?

Academics, an established Education and training Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting an experienced SEN Teacher to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of specialist SEN provisions throughout Sheffield.

The opportunity offers the chance to support children and young people with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and communication needs. Some specialist provisions include Post-16 learners, therefore an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS is required.

Position: SEN Teacher
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £140 - £200 per day (paid via PAYE, no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)
Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

Working as an SEN Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that are tailored to pupils' individual learning needs within specialist educational settings.

The role involves working closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development whilst promoting positive behaviour and independence.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver personalised lessons
• Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets
• Support pupils with a range of SEN including ASC, ADHD and SEMH
• Promote positive behaviour and independence
• Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists
• Follow safeguarding procedures

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Previous SEN teaching experience or strong knowledge of specialist education
• Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and additional learning needs
• Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain both)
