Sen Teacher

Location: Andover and surrounding areas 

Primary and secondary SEN schools and specialist provisions across Andover and the surrounding area are seeking dedicated and compassionate teachers to join their teams on a permanent basis from September 2026.

As an SEN Teacher, you may support pupils who:

• Have autism spectrum conditions and associated communication or sensory needs

• Have moderate or severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)

• Have speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN)

• Have social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, including behaviours that require consistent and positive support

• Require additional support with social interaction and emotional regulation

• Experience cognitive delays affecting learning and information processing

• Benefit from structured routines, sensory strategies, and predictable learning environments

• Experience anxiety around change, transitions, or unfamiliar situations

A calm, patient, and nurturing approach is essential to help pupils develop confidence, independence, and achieve their individual potential.

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs

• Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, therapists, and wider school staff

• Use a range of communication strategies, visual supports, and sensory approaches

• Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where appropriate

• Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues

• Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies

• Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and wider school life

• Maintain high standards of safeguarding and professional practice at all times

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time (part-time opportunities may be available in some schools)

Salary: MPS/UPS, with SEN Allowance where applicable

Location: Andover and surrounding areas, including Ludgershall, Whitchurch, Stockbridge, Tidworth, and the Test Valley
