Are you an experienced SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real impact on the lives of young people?
A specialist Secondary SEN School in Leatherhead is seeking a dedicated Nurture Teacher to join their supportive team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with secondary-aged students, delivering a broad curriculum in a nurturing environment that helps pupils build confidence, independence and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons across subjects including English, Maths, Art, Food Technology and other foundation subjects.
- Support secondary-aged students with a range of Special Educational Needs and additional learning needs.
- Create a positive, structured classroom that promotes learning, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
- Use effective behaviour management strategies to support students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider school team to deliver personalised learning.
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching approaches to meet individual learning needs.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Previous experience teaching within an SEN setting is essential.
- Experience teaching either primary or secondary-aged pupils.
- Confidence delivering a broad curriculum, including English and Maths.
- Strong understanding of SEND, differentiated teaching and behaviour management.
- A patient, resilient and nurturing approach with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
