An exceptional specialist provision in Yeovil is seeking a passionate and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their committed team from September 2026.
This full-time opportunity involves supporting pupils aged 4 to 16 with a broad range of additional learning needs within a nurturing and highly personalised educational environment.
The setting is well regarded for its warm and inclusive culture, where staff work collaboratively to create meaningful learning experiences tailored to every pupil.
Children attending the provision may present with autism, moderate learning difficulties, speech and language needs, sensory processing differences and complex educational profiles.
The school places a strong emphasis on communication, emotional wellbeing, independence and life skills alongside academic progress.
This role would suit an experienced SEN practitioner or a mainstream teacher looking to transition into specialist education.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that reflect individual EHCP outcomes while encouraging confidence, resilience and positive relationships throughout the classroom.
• Plan and deliver creative, accessible learning opportunities
• Adapt teaching approaches to support a variety of SEND needs
• Promote emotional wellbeing, communication and independence
• Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families
• Monitor progress and contribute towards personalised targets and reviews
• Create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
• Encourage positive behaviour and celebrate pupil success
• Holds Qualified Teacher Status
• Has a caring, patient and flexible approach
• Demonstrates strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Values inclusive education and personalised learning
• Experience within SEN, ASD, MLD or complex needs settings is advantageous
