Are you a passionate, resilient and creative educator who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a specialist environment supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and a wide range of learning differences.

This role is perfect for a teacher with a strong moral purpose, a therapeutic mindset, and a commitment to personalised, meaningful education.

As an SEN Teacher, you will lead a small, highly supported class of learners with diverse communication, emotional, sensory and academic needs. You will plan structured, differentiated lessons that promote engagement, regulation, and independence-while ensuring every pupil feels valued, understood, and safe.

You will play a key part in shaping holistic development, celebrating small wins, and supporting pupils to build the confidence and skills they need for life.

  • Deliver high-quality, individualised teaching tailored to ASC, SEMH and complex learning profiles
  • Use visual supports, sensory strategies, regulation breaks and structured routines
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils through consistency, empathy, and positive reinforcement
  • Lead and mentor a class team of teaching assistants
  • Work collaboratively with SEN specialists, therapists, pastoral staff and families
  • Track progress across academic, emotional, social and communication outcomes
  • Create a nurturing environment that encourages resilience, engagement and emotional wellbeing

A recognised PGCE (QTS) is required for this role.

Candidates must hold a current Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, covering both Adult & Child workforce categories.

You should have:

  • Experience teaching learners with ASD, SEMH or complex needs OR a strong commitment and desire to specialise in SEN teaching
  • An understanding of therapeutic, trauma‑informed, or autism‑friendly approaches
  • A passion for unlocking potential and celebrating every step of progress

We are looking for someone who:

  • Approaches challenges with patience, creativity and emotional intelligence
  • Understands the importance of sensory needs, communication profiles and behaviour as communication
  • Thrives in a structured yet flexible teaching environment
  • Values teamwork, reflective practice, and continuous improvement
  • Has a warm, nurturing presence and a genuine desire to improve life chances for vulnerable young people

  • Supportive leadership and a collaborative, specialist staff team
  • Excellent TA support and high staffing ratios
  • Ongoing professional development in autism, SEMH and therapeutic approaches
  • A meaningful, rewarding role where you'll see the impact of your work every day
