SEN Teacher – Primary SEN Provision (Wigan)

A primary school in Wigan is looking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teacher to work within their specialist provision, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs.

This role involves leading a small class of pupils with complex needs, including ASD and communication difficulties. You will be responsible for planning and delivering a highly adapted curriculum that meets individual needs, focusing on both academic progress and personal development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet EHCP targets
  • Work closely with support staff to create a structured, nurturing environment
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, adapting strategies where needed
  • Build strong relationships with families and external professionals
  • Promote independence, communication, and emotional regulation

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold QTS and have experience working with SEND pupils
  • Have strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies
  • Be patient, resilient, and committed to inclusive education
  • Have experience within a specialist setting or SEN provision
