SEN Teacher - (SEN School - Primary Year groups)

Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Start Date: After Easter Half-Term 2026
Contract: Until December 2026 (with potential extension and permanent opportunity)
Class Size: 5–6 pupils

An established and nurturing SEN school in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join their team after the Easter half-term. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs and prides itself on providing tailored, holistic education within small, supportive class environments.

The successful candidate will teach a class of 5–6 pupils aged between Year 6 and Year 8, delivering a creative and individualised curriculum that supports academic, emotional, and social development. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is committed to inclusive education and enjoys working in a closely knit, specialist setting.

• Plan, deliver, and adapt engaging lessons that meet the needs of pupils with varying SEN profiles (including ASD, SEMH, MLD, and other complex needs).
• Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Implement EHCP targets effectively and monitor progress regularly.
• Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and wider school staff to support each student holistically.
• Use a trauma-informed, child-centred approach to behaviour and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting on progress and communicating effectively with parents and carers.
• Contribute to a positive school culture where every child is valued and encouraged.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent.
• Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (school is open to primary, secondary, or specialist backgrounds).
• Strong understanding of differentiated learning and behaviour strategies.
• Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
