SEN Early Years Teaching Assistant

Location – Wandsworth

Contract: Full-time, Long-term


Are you a looking for a new rewarding SEN Teaching Assistant role, supporting early years students in a vibrant SEN School? This could be your dream job!

We are currently recruiting for an exceptional SEN School in Wandsworth, who cater to students aged 3-19 with a variety of Special Educational Needs including ASD, PMLD, VI/HI and complex needs.

The School are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years Teaching Assistant with a CACHE Level 2 qualification to support their early years’ pupils. You will play a crucial role in assisting the class teacher in supporting individual learning needs, and creating a positive, stimulating learning environment for students.

This is a full-time, long term role to start in September 2024 and will be with a view to going permanent. The hours are from 8.30am-4pm, Monday to Friday.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to children with varying needs.
  • Assist with classroom management and organisation.
  • Support pupils' personal, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Participate in school events, outings, and activities as required.



  • CACHE Level 2 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting, preferably with SEN.
  • A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
