Are you an experienced and passionate Teaching Assistant who wants to make a real difference to children with additional needs?

We are looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Bolton, BL6 area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience working with children with SEND, particularly those with autism and ADHD, who understands that every child learns differently.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide high-needs SEN support both in and outside of the classroom
  • Work closely with children with autism and ADHD, using an understanding and nurturing approach
  • Support children with NBIW and next-step boards
  • Use brain breaks and sensory strategies to help children regulate and engage with learning
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Adapt learning and activities to meet individual children's needs
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support, including working from individual workstations
  • Follow SENDCO plans and individual support strategies
  • Work closely with teachers and the wider school team
  • Liaise with families, SEND professionals and external agencies
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working with children with SEN
  • Has experience supporting high-needs pupils
  • Has a good understanding of autism and ADHD
  • Is patient, caring, calm and consistent
  • Can build strong relationships with children
  • Is confident adapting activities and approaches to suit individual needs
  • Can work independently while also being part of a wider team
  • Has excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting children

A Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification would be desirable, although relevant experience will also be considered.

Part-time and full-time hours available, depending on your availability.
