SEN Learning Support Assistant (1-1)

Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire

Daily Rate: £85.50 - £120 per day

Contract: Part-Time, Long-Term

Start Date: 2nd September 2026

About You: 

Are you passionate about helping pupils with special educational needs to thrive? If you have experience working with children with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or other SEN, we have opportunities to suit your skill set. Then we’d love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
  • Support teaching and learning under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Encourage pupils’ academic, social and emotional development.
  • Assist with behaviour management using positive and consistent approaches.
  • Adapt support to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
  • Build positive working relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
  • Encourage pupils to develop independence, confidence and resilience throughout the school day.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs, is desirable but not essential.
  • A caring, patient and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
