About the Role
A specialist primary and secondary school in the Bordon area is seeking dedicated and supportive Learning Support Assistants to join its welcoming team. The school supports pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs, within a structured, nurturing, and highly supportive environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people and want to build a rewarding career within specialist education. Whether you already have experience in schools or come from backgrounds such as care, youth work, coaching, childcare, or mental health support, full training and guidance will be provided.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and wider staff teams to support pupils both in the classroom and throughout the school day. The role focuses on helping pupils engage with learning, build confidence and communication skills, and feel safe, supported, and encouraged to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
Providing classroom and one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs
Supporting communication, emotional regulation, and social development
Assisting with lesson activities and adapting learning where required
Encouraging engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
Helping maintain a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and pastoral teams
Supporting pupils during transitions, sensory breaks, and daily routines
