Are you an experienced English Teacher, with a passion for teaching students with Special Educational Needs? If so, we have an amazing opportunity for you!

 

We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN English Teacher for a prestigious SEN School situated in Sutton, London. As a SEN English Teacher, you'll have the rewarding chance to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students with Autism and ADHD, providing tailored support and guidance to nurture their academic and social growth.

 

This is a full-time, permanent role to start in September and the salary will be equal to the main Teachers’ pay scale plus SEN points.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons customised to meet the unique needs and abilities of students with Autism and ADHD.
  • Cultivate an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere that promotes academic progress, confidence, and self-assurance.
  • Employ varied teaching approaches and resources to cater to diverse learning styles and capabilities within the classroom.
  • Collaborate closely with SENCOs, teaching assistants, and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Establish positive rapport with students, parents, and caregivers through consistent communication and partnership.

 

Requirements:

  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, alongside a relevant degree in English or a related discipline.
  • Desirable experience or specialised training in working with students diagnosed with Autism and ADHD.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Ability to teach English up to GCSE level.
  • Solid grasp of SEN teaching methodologies, behaviour management techniques, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Dedication to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
