Are you an SEN teacher looking for a long-term position from Easter? Primary and secondary SEN schools and specialist provisions across Farnborough and the surrounding areas are seeking dedicated and compassionate teachers to join their teams on a long-term basis for upcoming and unadvertised vacancies.

These are excellent opportunities for teachers who want to commit to a school community, build meaningful relationships, and make a lasting impact on pupils with additional needs. Schools in the Farnborough area offer supportive leadership, collaborative staff teams, and well-resourced environments designed to help both pupils and staff succeed.

In these SEN settings, you may support pupils who:

  • Have autism spectrum conditions with communication or sensory differences

  • Experience moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD)

  • Have social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), including challenging behaviour

  • Need support with social interaction and understanding social cues

  • Have cognitive delays affecting processing and memory

  • Experience sensory sensitivities and benefit from structured regulation strategies

  • Feel anxious around change, transitions, or unfamiliar situations

Consistency, structure, and a nurturing approach are key to supporting pupils' progress and wellbeing.

As an SEN Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs

  • Create a structured, supportive, and engaging classroom environment

  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs, and external professionals

  • Use visual supports, communication systems, and sensory strategies

  • Monitor progress and adapt teaching approaches accordingly

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families

  • Support behaviour positively using consistent and clear strategies

  • Contribute to EHCP reviews, reports, and wider school life

  • Uphold safeguarding standards and school policies at all times

  • Start: Easter term (April) or September

  • Contract Type: Permanent

  • Hours: Full-time (part-time may be considered in some settings)

  • Salary: MPS/UPS, with SEN allowance where applicable

  • Benefits: Supportive induction, ongoing CPD, and career progression opportunities

  • Location: Farnborough and surrounding areas (including Aldershot and Hook)

This role is ideal for:

  • Qualified teachers (QTS/QTLS), including ECTs

  • Teachers with SEN experience (autism, MLD/SLD, complex needs)

  • Mainstream teachers looking to transition into SEN

  • Educators seeking stability and long-term career development

  • Patient, adaptable, and child-centred professionals

  • QTS or QTLS

  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)

  • Right to work in the UK
