Job Title: SEMH Tutor 

Location: Wallingford, Oxfordshire

Salary: £20-£25 per hour

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Tutor to join our team in Wallingford, Oxfordshire. The ideal candidate will have experience working with primary and secondary-aged students who have SEMH needs, providing tailored support to help them reach their full potential.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions for students with SEMH needs.
  • Develop and implement personalized learning plans based on individual student needs and abilities.
  • Support students in developing essential social, emotional, and behavioral skills.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support for each student.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed to maximize learning outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified teacher status or relevant experience in education or mental health support.
  • Proven experience working with primary and secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and effective intervention strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience to effectively support students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to teaching, with the ability to tailor instruction to meet individual student needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
