A supportive mainstream primary school in Blackburn is seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping children with social, emotional and mental health needs to thrive in a nurturing and structured environment.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to provide tailored support to pupils who require additional SEMH assistance. Your role will involve building positive relationships, promoting emotional regulation and helping pupils engage successfully in their learning.

  • Provide 1:1 and small‑group SEMH support

  • Assist pupils in managing emotions, behaviour and social interactions

  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to implement support strategies
