Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs and Mental Health)

Location: Barnoldswick

Schedule: Part-Time, 3 Days a Week (Wednesday - Friday)

Duration: September - December (with potential for extension)

Start Date: 4th September 2024

Are you an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges? We are looking for a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Barnoldswick. In this part-time role, you will provide personalized support to a student with significant Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and emotional regulation difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to a student with ASC and emotional regulation challenges.
  • Implement and adapt SEMH support models tailored to the student's individual needs.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to develop and execute effective support strategies.
  • Monitor and document the student's progress, adjusting support as needed.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs and ASC.
  • Strong understanding of emotional regulation techniques and support models.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
