Do you have experience working with pupils that have additional mental health needs?

Are you looking for a new role within a mainstream Primary school?

If so, Teaching Personnel are currently working with an Ofsted graded Good school in Hackney that are actively looking for a suitable candidate to work as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant with a student that has additional SEMH requirements. Within this role, the successful candidate will be working closely with the school SENCO and classroom teacher to gain a stronger understanding of the students’ needs and requirements going forward.

The successful candidate will be someone who has a strong understanding of child psychology and social, emotional, mental health. Prior experience working within a mainstream primary school would be highly desirable, but not essential.

Role Requirements:

  • 1:1 Work with students struggling with their social, emotional, mental health.
  • Pastoral intervention with both SEN and SEMH students
  • Building a SEMH support plan with the school SENCO.
  • Safeguarding experience within a school setting (this can be done through Teaching Personnel).

You will be working within a passionate faculty who are focused on the development of SEN students, alongside working closely with the school SENCO and HLTAs to gain a better understanding on the students’ requirements.

About the role:

  • PAYE rates of £90 - £100 per day dependent on experience
  • Weekly pay through school timesheets
  • Located M23, easily accessible from anyone in Manchester, Tameside and Oldham.
  • Full time – Monday to Friday
  • Immediate start following Teaching Personnel registration.
