SEMH Teaching Assistant - Maidenhead

Are you a Psychology graduate eager to gain practical experience supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?

A Secondary SEMH School in Maidenhead is seeking a dedicated, compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, Therapists, Counsellors, or Teachers who want to build valuable, hands-on experience working with young people who may experience emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges.

As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
• Help students develop confidence, emotional regulation, resilience and independence.
• Support students in managing challenging emotions and behaviours in a positive and constructive way.
• Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

We're looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant who is:

• Compassionate, patient and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Confident communicating with students who may display challenging or complex behaviours.
• Interested in gaining practical experience working with SEMH before pursuing a career in psychology, education, therapy or a related field.
• Able to remain calm and consistent when supporting students through difficult situations.

• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay: £93-£110 per day
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
• Contract: Full-time
