A secondary pupil referral unit in Manchester are looking for teaching assistants to work with students who are out of mainstream schooling for various social, emotional and mental health reasons. You will work within classrooms to support attention and learning, and will provide individualised support to each student based on the needs that they have.

You will also work with other members of staff to ensure that EHCPs and being followed and feedback is given surrounding actions on this.

Requirements

For this role you should:

  • Have previous experience working with students with social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Have good knowledge of how EHCPs work and how these are implemented within schools
  • Be confident with de-escalation and working with challenging behaviour
  • Be flexible and adaptable to different situations and needs of students
  • Have GCSE Maths and English
  • Be available full-time

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
