SEMH Teaching Assistant – Part Time – September Start (BL9)

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a patient, resilient and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a small group of pupils at a welcoming primary school in the BL9 area. This is a part‑time position (8:15–3:30) 3 days a week, starting September, with the opportunity to make a real impact on pupils who benefit from emotional, social and behavioural support.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a small group of children across KS2, with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, helping them regulate emotions, build confidence and develop positive learning habits. You’ll be a calm, reliable presence who supports both their academic progress and their wellbeing - ensuring they feel safe, understood and ready to learn each day.

Requirements:

-          Teaching Assistant experience

-          A caring, patient and empathetic approach

-          Strong relationship‑building and communication skills

-          Experience supporting SEMH, behaviour or SEND (desirable, not essential)

-          A valid DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

-          Consistency, resilience and a positive attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
