Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Secondary Tutor to support students across the Wellingborough area. This role involves delivering personalised tuition either within school settings or in pupils' homes during school hours.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting secondary-aged students and helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions aligned with the secondary curriculum (KS3-KS4)
- Support students in core subjects such as English, Maths, and/or Science
- Adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs, including SEN
- Support students with GCSE preparation where required
- Build positive and supportive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence
- Monitor progress and provide feedback
- Adhere to safeguarding and compliance procedures at all times
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' UK teaching or tutoring experience (secondary level)
- Strong knowledge of the UK secondary curriculum (KS3-KS4)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing a PGCE (Secondary)
- Experience supporting SEN students or those with additional needs
- Subject specialism in English, Maths, or Science
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
