Job Role: Secondary Teacher

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire

Start Date: September 2026

Contract Type: Part-time, Fixed-Term (1 Term)

Working Pattern: 2 Days per Week

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Secondary Teacher with QTS to join an independent Christian school in Watford from September 2026. This is a part-time position working two days per week for one term.

The successful candidate will be a passionate and reflective practitioner with strong classroom management skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning. The school is looking for someone who will positively contribute to its supportive learning environment and uphold the values and ethos of the school community.

  • Plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the secondary curriculum
  • Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement
  • Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing clear feedback and next steps
  • Create a positive and well-managed classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents
  • Uphold and support the Christian ethos of the school
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
  • Previous secondary teaching experience – essential
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • A thorough understanding of the secondary curriculum
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • A professional, proactive and reflective approach to teaching
  • An understanding of and respect for the Christian ethos of the school
