About the Role: IOW Tutors is dedicated to providing high-quality, personalized tuition to students on the Isle of Wight. With a growing demand for tutors, particularly in supporting students who are unable to attend mainstream school due to SEN needs, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, Learning Difficulties, and Lower Learning Levels, we are seeking passionate educators to join our team. We're recruiting tutors to work with secondary students across all key stages, focusing on English, Maths, and Science.

What the Role Involves:

  • Delivering personalized face-to-face tuition sessions to students in their homes or local areas such as public libraries.
  • Creating tailored resources and lesson plans to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student.
  • Using engaging teaching techniques to inspire and motivate students during sessions.
  • Implementing effective behavior management strategies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Building strong relationships with students to support their academic progress and personal development.

What We're Looking For:

  • Candidates with a passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Experience in SEMH and/or SEN, with a focus on working with students who may present challenging behavior.
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging sessions that cater to the unique learning requirements of each student.
  • Proficiency in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to drive their learning forward.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
