Secondary Supply Teachers - Brighton & Hove
Flexible Supply | Short-Term Cover | Long-Term Opportunities

The new academic year is here, and I'm looking to expand my pool of reliable Secondary Teachers available to support schools across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding areas.

Supply teaching can look very different depending on what you want from it.

For some teachers, it's the freedom to work two or three days a week without taking planning and marking home. For others, it's a way of experiencing different schools before committing to their next permanent role. And for some, it's simply a way of getting back into the classroom after time away from teaching.

I'm recruiting across the full secondary curriculum and would be keen to hear from teachers specialising in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, MFL, PE, Art, DT, Computing and other secondary subjects.

Depending on your availability and preferences, opportunities can include:

  • Day-to-day supply
  • Pre-booked absence cover
  • Short-term teaching assignments
  • Long-term subject-specific placements
  • Full-time roles
  • Potential permanent opportunities

You tell me the days you're available and the type of work you're comfortable accepting.

I'm not interested in pressuring somebody into five days a week if they've told me they only want three.

I'd be particularly interested in hearing from:

  • Qualified Secondary Teachers
  • Experienced classroom teachers
  • ECTs looking to broaden their experience
  • Teachers returning to education
  • Teachers stepping away from permanent positions
  • Teachers relocating to Sussex
  • Educators looking for flexibility before deciding on their next permanent move

For longer-term teaching assignments, pay to scale will apply where appropriate, with rates dependent on the individual role, responsibilities and experience.

I look after Secondary and SEND recruitment across Sussex and work directly with schools to understand what they're actually looking for.

Equally, I want to understand what you want from supply.

If there are schools, locations, year groups or types of assignment that don't suit you, tell me. The aim is to build something sustainable rather than send you somewhere completely unsuitable because a booking happens to be available.

You'll need appropriate teaching experience/qualifications for the roles you're undertaking and will need to complete our safeguarding
