Secondary Supply Teachers & Cover Supervisors New

I'm recruiting Secondary Supply Teachers and Cover Supervisors across Brighton and the surrounding areas for flexible day-to-day and pre-booked work throughout the 2026/27 academic year.

For some people, supply is temporary.

For others, it works perfectly around everything else in their lives.

You might want a couple of teaching days each week without taking on a permanent timetable. You might be returning to education after some time away. Perhaps you're considering teacher training and want genuine secondary classroom experience first.

Or you might simply prefer having some control over which days you work.

All of those are perfectly reasonable reasons to choose supply.

You let me know your availability and I'll look for suitable bookings across the secondary schools I work with.

You don't have to offer five days a week.

If you have two regular days available, that's useful. If your availability changes each week, we can work around that too.

Some bookings are arranged days or weeks ahead, while others come through on the morning itself.

Schools can start contacting me from around 6:30am, and occasionally earlier, when they've had unexpected absence overnight. If you've told me you're free that day, I may therefore call or message early to see whether you're interested.

If you prefer pre-booked work rather than same-day calls, just tell me. Knowing how you want to work helps me offer you the right things.

I'm looking for teachers across a range of secondary subjects.

You'll generally need QTS or an appropriate equivalent, and I'm happy to speak with ECTs as well as experienced teachers.

Depending on the booking, you might be covering general lessons for the day, teaching within your subject specialism or supporting a school with a longer period of absence.

For teachers who enjoy the classroom but want to step away from some of the wider responsibilities of a permanent role, supply can provide a useful middle ground.

You don't need QTS to work as a Cover Supervisor.

You'll generally supervise lessons using work prepared by the school, help pupils remain focused and manage the classroom while their usual teacher is absent.

Previous school experience is helpful, but it isn't necessarily the only route in.
